relaxed living in quality surroundings

ABout the house

The renovation of Molland House started with simple directions. To be a comfortable place to sit with a good drink and a dog, ice, wifi and proper showers. In other words it was about good living in quality surroundings.

To be used as a luxury shooting lodge throughout the winter months by nearby Loyton Sporting and a private holiday home let throughout the summer season, the house has required stripping back completely then redesigning and redecorating, bearing both utmost quality and a sympathy of its history in mind. Its Victorian features such as the chequered tiled hall and fireplaces have been kept and interiors decorated in a mixture of neutral tones with accented wallpapers and colour details, and wood panelling and cornicing in several rooms. New elements added such as a games room extension on the south elevation.

There will be ten en-suite bedrooms, between the main house and the separate Linhay barn, a large sitting and dining room and the 11m panelled games room with plenty of seating and a well stocked bar. The traditional family kitchen, has a separate service kitchen adjoined for external catering if required and there is separate accommodation for staff when needed. Designed as a luxury home from home, Molland House has all the quality to really enjoy with a party of friends but will equally be child friendly and have bedrooms with stair free access. Importantly the house will be dog friendly, welcoming the whole family.

The garden plans will be overseen by Christina Williams, acclaimed garden designer and of the Throckmorton family, the Molland estate owners.
